1. Step stool
Let’s start off with something boring and practical and I promise the rest will be toys. But if this is the first child in this family they are going to need a step stool! this one is sturdy and practical and will grow with the child. Plus it’s neutral and will go in any room!
2. Set of Wooden Vehicles
I love this little car set. It’s perfect for little hands. You know you can’t go wrong with things that roll around.
3. Jumbo Puzzle
This puzzle is perfect for a toddler to grasp. They can hold the big handles and replace the shapes easily. It’s a great starter puzzle for little ones.
4. Rainbow Stacker
I love this stacker. It’s a great way to introduce colors and stacking. Honestly I love this rainbow because it doubles as cute nursery decor too! A lot of rainbows right now can be pretty pricey but this is a great deal.
5. Toddler Pop It
Have you seen these pop its before? I think they are a new toy to the game but they are crazy popular. This pop it has big circles that are easy for younger kids to play with. I actually sit there mindlessly popping this toy and it’s so satisfying.
6. Poke-a-Dot Book
Speaking of popping things… This is another great toy that doubles as a book. My daughter loves pushing buttons and poking holes and this is the exact thing she needed. There are little plastic bubbles throughout the book that young kids (or big kids!) can pop and they coincide with things happening in the story! It’s a wonderful tactile and learning experience.
7. Octopus Bath Toy
Who doesn’t love bath toys? This octopus ring toss bath toy is great for even younger ages but my 1 year old loves it! One thing I love is it’s not a squeak toy so there are no holes in it for water to creep in. No need to worry about mold!
8. Letter Magnets
This is a nostalgic toy. I never thought I’d be a “kids letter magnets on the dishwasher” person but here I am! My 1 year old loves taking the letters on and off the dishwasher and we get to talk about colors and spell things together.
9. Squeaky Eggs
I love this toy! This seems like such a random thing but they are seriously so fun. There are shapes at the bottom of the eggs that you match up in the container and each eggs squeaks when you push it down like a baby chick! Ok, I’ll admit, I might play with these more than my daughter.
10. Stuffed Animal
This may be a given but this is prime stuffed animal age. My baby girl is learning to hug and love and she just loves anything she can squeeze. You can’t go wrong here.
11. Small Books
This set of tiny books in particular is really great. It is a box set of tiny board books that a child not only hold easily in their hands but they can use them for stacking blocks, match them up in the box and take them in and out like a puzzle. I have 3 sets of these and I think they’re the perfect gift for any little one.
12. Basket of Babies
Going along a little bit with the stuffed animal idea is this basket of babies. I can show my child love by hugs and kisses but when they have a baby with a face that they love to hug and kiss it just melts your heart. It’s such a sweet age when they’re already learning compassion and tenderness with others.
This is probably my most favorite gift my daughter got for her birthday. This set of babies has a boy baby, it shows diversity in skin tones, and they are small enough for her to play with. It’s just an excellent gift for any child.

It’s crazy we get to teach her all these new things by playing with fun new toys. She’s learning math and colors and gentleness and imagination and fine motor skills and SO MUCH MORE! We have a wild ride ahead of us but how much fun is this!
